PLayed the Totnes Monster show today, love playing that show really fun and gives me great experience, just remembered need to check out there web page, think they will be adding some live MP3′s and video’s from the session, http://www.totnesmonster.org/ check it out, i felt a little rusty as I’ve been suffering from voice strain and it’s taking quiet a while to recover from it, So all i seem to be doing is focusing on resting the vocals, finding it hard since i have two young ones to look after, but with this my sound has become really chilled and works alot better with just me and the acoustic, stripping things down adding a more delicate sound and approach.

Good news on the Local music front, i’ve been doing some work for Devon Youth Service and they should be setting up a Devon Youth Label/Promotions company to help develop Young bands and singers, we recieved funding and are in the next stages of setting it up, so should help me get to grips with the local circuit and give me the opportunity to pass on my knowledge of the music industry, that i know so far,

so following up from my last blog i was in the process of sorting out a local gigging band a nearly got things moving until i realised my voice needed it’s well earnt break, i’ve only been playing slots and gigs that i feel have been worth while, and had a great time, The live and acoustic show was an ace gig and had a really warming response, it alos alway great to play on the local stations, like BBC Devon which i did last November and regularly slot on Sound Dart Radio,

Really looking forward to piecing together an 5 track EP of acoustic with a basic backing production outlook, also to have another push with the last demo,

I am in the process on putting together a Backing band to move my live shows along and add a bit of sparkle, so searching the vastness that is the south west, for like minded people, who are headed in the same direction, I’ve found a few good musicians for guitar and keyboard, but need a drummer and bass player to really get rolling,

I’ll be also putting on a lot more solo gigs and a Solo London tour, After having a little break to rest the vocals and concentrate on other area’s in my life. Also have written a great little tune called ‘Heavens Tears’ which is working really well and has plenty of soul, a little inspiration from my daughter was the starting point,

Even tho the fore front of my online presence has been quiet I’ve been working behind the scenes, meeting promo and distribution companies, i think the idea now is to get even aspect up and running so i can release my material on my own label and start at grass roots, Be great to get this into action as i’ve been thinking and planing for a while.

I have been invited back to play on BBC Radio Devon following my performance last august on the late show, I’ll now be playing a live early slot with DJ Kevin Hutchings, on the BBC Introducing Show, which is cool news,

Also been added to the BBC6 Database for up and coming Air play on the Tom Robinson BBC6 Introducing as well, so i’ll post more when i know,

Have been a busy six weeks, kids under my feet from school and moving house, still got time and bursts of idea’s for music, with other three songs on the way, been a month since i was last on the net, Muse are set to play Teigmouth the town next to us, traffic and parking around the town is mad, have to bank some cheques next week when i can get to the bank. lol, haven’t tickets but might pop down any how to soak up the atmosphere,

Ok so the start to setting up a wider prences on the web, added myself to twitter, to keep people update on what i’m doing also going to set up this blog page, to act as a base from myspace, Myspace is great but i have so much info and extra’s that i can’t fit it all on myspace, My Brother is coming down later so i’m going to pick his computer genius brains and hope he might give up a little of the Devon air to help me sort everything out.
